It's time to explore the "Big Issues" in a fun and accessible way. Join Jack Bowen--author of the S. F Chronicle Top-10 Bestseller and Kepler's 2006 Top-10 Bestseller "The Dream Weaver"--in celebration of his February 2008 release, "A Journey Through the Landscape of Philosophy." He will lead a discussion with other bright minds including Stanford Philosophy Chair John Perry, National Geographic photographer Rick Smolan, and others. The evening will also include the latest in eco-fashion from nationally acclaimed BTC Elements.
The event will allow audience members to hear the latest on major topics such as morality, the soul, and science and give them the opportunity to explore them for themselves.
The authors will donate all book sales during the week to YES Reading, in an effort to help eradicate illiteracy and promote critical and creative thinking. Visit "The Dream Weaver" website at:
www.dreamweaverphilosophy.com for more details. Come early as another big crowd is expected as a follow-up to last year's event.

Book Description
The new anthology by Jack Bowen, author of The Dream Weaver, introduces the important issues and thinkers in philosophy with a strong, academic approach made accessible and relevant to the introductory-level student. The readings include many of the most well-known historical pieces as well as contemporary ethical issues presented in a debate-style format.
To balance the rigorous nature of the readings, the book’s introductions, author biographies, discussion questions, and the involvement of the companion book, The Dream Weaver, provide a welcoming atmosphere for students new to philosophy, sparking interest, assessing comprehension, and stimulating discussion.
